Strivo (“Strivo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides [INSERT BRIEF PRODUCT DESCRIPTION] to schools and educational institutions (“Schools,” “Customers”) and their students (“Students,” “Users”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when Schools and Students use our platform (the “Service”).

By using the Service, Schools and Students agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

This Privacy Policy applies to:

Because Strivo is used by schools on behalf of students, in many cases the School, not Strivo, is the primary point of contact for parents and guardians regarding their child’s data, consistent with how student privacy law treats school service providers.

Students who are 18 years of age or older (“Eligible Students”) have the right to control their own education records and personal information directly, and may consent to Strivo’s terms and this Privacy Policy on their own behalf, independent of their School or a parent/guardian. For Students under 18, the rights described in this Policy are generally exercised by the School and/or the Student’s parent or guardian, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

2. Information We Collect

From Schools

From Students

We collect the minimum information necessary to provide the Service and do not knowingly collect more student data than is required for educational purposes.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information solely to:

We do not use Student data for advertising, marketing, or to build behavioral profiles for commercial purposes unrelated to the Service, consistent with our obligations as a school service provider.

4. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

Strivo’s Users range in age, and some Students may be under the age of 13. This section applies only to those Users. In accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

5. FERPA and Student Education Records

Where Strivo processes information that constitutes “education records” under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Strivo acts as a School Official with a legitimate educational interest, under the direct control of the School regarding the use and maintenance of education records. Specifically:

Eligible Students (18 or older, or attending a postsecondary institution) have the right under FERPA to access their own education records, request corrections, and consent to disclosures directly. These rights transfer from the parent/guardian to the Student upon reaching eligibility. Eligible Students may exercise these rights by contacting us directly using the information in Section 11, without needing to go through a parent or guardian.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

We do not share Student data for third-party advertising or marketing purposes.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain School and Student information only as long as necessary to provide the Service or as required by the School’s agreement with Strivo. Upon a School’s request or contract termination, we will delete or return Student data within [INSERT TIMEFRAME], except where retention is required by law.

9. Your Rights and Choices

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to Schools via [email/notice on platform]. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
